Hector Cuevas Y Su
Orquesta
Hector Cuevas y Su Orquesta is Boston's biggest and most elegant Latin Band, delighting lovers of Latin Music, listeners and dancer's alike. Led by music director and percussionist, Hector Cuevas, the 12 - 14 piece Boston Latin Band plays salsas, merengues, danzons and boleros.
Hector Cuevas grew up in a music-loving family in the Dominican Republic, listening to CUBAN music and getting his percussion start at age 15 with the band of Johnny Ventura. Hector has played in with the likes of senior Tito Puentes, Eddie Palmieri, Hanzel and Raul, Johnny Pacheco, Eddie Guagua Rivera and many more.
"El Nino", Jesus Alejandro Perez, musical genius, was musical producer of CUBARENGUE, the band's first CD. The CD "Cubarengue" reviewed with four stars by Impacto, Denver's Art's Review Magazine, illustrates originally composed salsas, traditional salsa, merengue, romantic boleros and merengue jazz. Ana Morales, reviewing this CD, Cubarengue, in The Boston Globe, wrote that the band “has the Bronx naughtiness I like in salsa.”
Coming soon, Homenaje a Sammy Sosa is a single for the upcoming CD and a
tribute a Johnny Pacheco and MERENGULINA with JOSEITO MATEO EL REY DE EL MERENGUE.
Hector Cuevas Y Su Orquesta plays authentic salsa, latin jazz, merengue, boleros
and danzon for elegant nightclubs, weddings, parties, bar mitzvahs and schools,
festivals, resorts and cruises. Hector, percussionist, customizes each musical
and educational event to meet your needs.
Hector Cuevas' Latin Band excites the crowds. New England salseros will want
to be present to salsa with this Big Band!
